I’m old enough to remember life without the internet, but now I do so many things online, I wonder how I lived without it. Paying bills, shopping, blogging and a host (no pun intended) of other things have made life easier. Usually.
One thing that can pose a problem is remembering my passwords. I appreciate the use of passwords for my protection and privacy, but there are times, for the life of me, I cannot remember a password. I attempt to invent brilliantly creative passwords, so brilliant I cannot remember them.
I’m glad God doesn’t require a password when we talk to Him. Or does He?
‘Enter with the password: “Thank you!” Make yourselves at home, talking praise. Thank Him. Worship Him.’
Psalm 100:4 (MSG)
With God, we all have the same password and it’s easy to remember. “Thank you!”
When I begin conversation with the Lord, I want to be praising and thanking Him. “Talking praise” as the verse says. I want Him to be glad I came and not wonder when I’m going to leave. I know that is bad theology, but honestly, do you like it when you are around people who are in a bad mood, griping and complaining?
No matter what we are experiencing, there are many things to be thankful for. God is continually good to us. Focusing on good, praise-worthy things causes the negative things to shrink smaller in our lives.
So, let’s memorize our password, keeping it in the forefront of our minds. Better yet, in our mouths.
“Thank you.”
