“How blessed is God! And what a blessing he is!
He’s the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in him.
Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love.
Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!)
He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son.” Ephesians 1:3-6 (MSG)
Once upon a time, when there was no time, God wanted a family. He had one perfect Son Who never gave Him a minute’s trouble. One would imagine God might want it to stay that way; but God loved children, and He wanted a lot of them.
Babies are a full-time job with around-the-clock feedings and diaper changes. The sleepless nights are exhausting, but God never sleeps, so He was up for the task.
Like all good parents, God began preparation. Though a baby is small, an entire room is needed to contain all the baby’s things. When it came to size of room, God decided a big blue planet would do. And besides, God wanted a big yard in which His children could play.
So, God created the heavens and the earth. He turned the lights on, and it only got better from there.
The big blue ball was mighty large, so God looked for the perfect spot to place his child. God chose a beautiful garden. Everything was perfect in every way. Flowers, trees, and the greenest grass.
Black and white would never do. God filled the earth with His limitless palette of colors. His children would see beauty everywhere they looked.
God designed a perfect climate with a comfortable temperature. No one would be fighting over the thermostat.
Animals of every shape and size covered the land, and filled the water and sky, for the enjoyment of His children. God knew every child needs a pet.
He planned the menu for His family meals, with great variety so everyone had their favorite food, and no one had to eat the same thing every night for dinner.
God’s children would never be bored nor lack a single thing.
“Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good.” Genesis 1:31 (NKJV)
The Father placed everything we would ever need within the earth. His children would never go without.
Lastly God introduced His children to their new home. He blessed them, told them to multiply, and to rule over everything He had made.
God’s love is evident in all of creation. There is no need to question His great love for us.
