“The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.” Psalm 103:8 (NKJV)
This verse leaves no questionings of God’s temperament and character.
“Merciful.”
“Gracious.”
“Slow to anger.”
And if that is not enough, “abounding in mercy.” Abounding!
In the past I thought God was angry and uptight, ready to punish me; but this verse completely discounts such a theory. God has no anger issues.
God never has a bad day nor wakes up on the wrong side of the bed. I realize God never sleeps, but if He did, He would wake up in a good mood with fresh mercy on His mind. Every morning is a new beginning, as far as God is concerned.
“The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.” Lamentations 3:22, 23 (NLT)
God is faithful, and He never runs low on love and mercy.
There is no need to question God’s love for us when we wake up each morning with the smell of fresh mercy baking in Heaven’s oven.
