“How blessed is God! And what a blessing he is!
He’s the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in him.
Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love.
Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!)
He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son.”
Ephesians 1:3-6 (MESSAGE)
God wanted a family so He began planning. He wanted His children to have a nice place to live.
God created the heavens and the earth. He turned on the light and it only got better from there.
He dressed the earth by adding grass, and all kinds of plants, trees, herbs, and bushes. Many of these produced fruit because his children would get hungry. The fruit had seed inside itself so the food wouldn’t run out and it would always be fresh. He made a great variety of flavors so his children wouldn’t get bored and everyone would have their favorite food.
Black and white would never do. God filled the earth with His limitless palette of colors. His children would see beauty every way they turned.
God placed the sun in the sky for light and warmth; He filled the night sky with the moon and an abundance of stars. His children would be able to keep track of the times and the seasons.
Animals of every shape and size covered the land, and filled the water and sky. They would be a blessing to His children in so many ways.
“Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good.”
Genesis 1:31 (NKJV)
“Heaven and Earth were finished, down to the last detail.”
Genesis 2:1 (MESSAGE)
When all was ready, God created His children and introduced them to their home. He blessed them, told them to multiply and to rule over the earth.
The Father had thought of everything. All His children could ever need or desire had been placed upon the earth.
There is no expectant father or mother
who has ever been more excited,
or planned so perfectly,
or loved as completely,
as the Father Who had us in His mind
long before He laid the foundation of the earth.
